StudioPress Updates Executive Child Theme

StudioPress announced the Executive child theme for the Genesis framework has been updated to version 2.0.

The all new Executive child theme now sports 2 new page templates, a Landing page and Portfolio page, as well as 7 colour schemes. It has also been updated to be mobile responsive. This now makes 19 themes in the StudioPress inventory that are mobile responsive.

I think the 2 things I like most about this update are:

• crisp and clean look
• wide layout

I’ve said it a million times (and will probably say it many more times) I am a sucker for a crisp and clean look and Executive 2.0 certainly fits that bill. It’s a very professional looking theme which makes great use of whitespace. I think the extra padding also adds a lot to its appearance. The additional colour styles are quite subtle, not in your face.

A trend I’ve noticed as of late is the departure from the traditional 960 grid. Many (perhaps all) of their latest themes now come with a wider layout which I think is important considering the proliferation of wide screen monitors. These wider themes simply look great on the larger screens.
