I don’t know about you but for the last couple of months this site has been getting hammered by spam. Despite that I’m happy. Why would I be happy about that? Actually I’m happy because thanks to Akismet none of it has gotten through. Not one.
Looking at my stats I see the spammers are not deterred. They keep trying. And Akismet keeps slapping the taste out of their mouths.
Imagine the smile on my face when I read on the official Akismet blog the spam-killing service extraordinaire hit the 20 billion mark! That’s an average of 10 million per day over the 5 years the Akismet service has been in existence.
