It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of one of the WordPress community's greats, Dan Schulz. Although Dan wasn't as well known as some of the 'high profile' designers/coders his work was second to none. I never actually met Dan or even chatted with him online but I'm certainly aware of his reputation.
Dan was a web developer/consultant based in Aurora, Illinois. In addition to creating kickass web sites, Dan was also active in many online communities including SitePoint, DigitalPoint, SEO.com and more recently WordPress Tavern. From what I've read about him he was only too eager to lend to anyone who needed it.
The WordPress community is like a huge extended family. It's a sad day when the family loses one of its own.

Very shocking news he is was very coolest administrator at seo.com
Looking over the archives at SitePoint you can see that the vast majority of the 15,000+ posts he made were helping others.
It is really easy to see his body of work. Dan was no slouch, and has helped many in their SEO pursuits. You have to respect his passion and dedication for helping so many others.
The SEO community lost a great man.
